Fall is here and so is the month of October! The Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper is a great one for this time of year. I saw this card design a couple of weeks ago and just loved it. It wraps a gatefold card with a belly band. I love a good gatefold! Plus it shows off this beautiful DSP. So I knew I wanted to make my own.
I started my card design with choosing a sheet of DSP. The one I chose is one I haven’t used very much. I’ve used the other side of the sheet, but haven’t been as sure with this side. For this card I think it really works nicely though. The belly band doesn’t cut anything off and the images flow from one side of the card to the other. Without that little piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock down the middle I don’t think you’d notice there were two panels.
The belly band is a simple strip of Mossy Meadow. And I wrapped it with a different piece of DSP that used the same colours. I used some Stampin’ SEAL to stick the band together. Then to cover up the end of the strip I added a phrase. This one is from the Pretty Pumpkins stamp set and I cut it out using one of the Stitched So Sweetly dies. I stamped it with Mossy Meadow ink and then popped it up with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then to add a little bit something more I added a couple of the Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots. Gotta love a little bit of bling!

I really like the idea of wrapping a belly band around a gatefold card. I’m definitely going to have to remember this! Here’s another version of a gatefold card I crafted not that long ago. For that one I used the Friends are like Seashells stamp set.
