I totally fell in love with the Feels Like Frost Specialty 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper as soon as I saw it in the Holiday Catalogue! The pictures are amazing and like many demonstrators I’ve been having a hard time cutting it up to use… somehow it feels wrong. So when I saw a similar project by Rachel Tessman (a fellow demonstrator) on Facebook I had to try it out.
It’s a version of a Z-fold card and allows you to use just about an entire 6 x 6 sheet of DSP. The sheet I chose for this card I thought would coordinate really well with Purple Posy cardstock, plus I love how the branches look covered with ice.
The phrase and image came from the First Frost cling stamp set and I stamped using the Purple Posy Stampin’ Write Marker for the ink colour. I also used the Stitched Shapes dies and a couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop up the phrase, then I added a Rhinestone Basic Jewel to play off the sunlight off of the icicles on the DSP.
As for the paper… I cut the DSP into 3 strips: 2 3/4″ x 5 1/4″, 1 1/8″ x 5 1/4″ and 2 1/8″ x 5 1/4″. I cut one strip of Whisper White cardstock for the 4th panel; 1 7/16″ x 5 1/4″. For the Purple Posy card base I took a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece and scored it at 3″, 4 6/16″ and 6 3/4″.
I love how this card turned out! So much that I may have to make a few more with some of the others sheets from this pack.
