This month’s challenge is to make a “thinking of you” card using stamps, ink, paper and some DSP. I guess it makes sense that we’re being challenged to some #SimpleStamping with Designer Series Paper this month, since this month is Stampin’ Up!s Designer Series Paper sale. I definitely took advantage and recently picked up the Hand Penned and In Good Taste packs of DSP. So I thought I would use one of these packs for my card design.
I’m definitely drawn more to the Hand Penned DSP, so that pack won out for this challenge. Next for my colour combination I pulled some of the colours from the sheet I decided to use. This sheet had a lot of colours to choose from; purples, greens, yellows and blues. I decided to go with Highland Heather and Mint Macaron for my cardstock and inks.
The “thinking of you” sentiment came from the Quiet Meadow stamp set. I’ve been having a lot of fun crafting with this set and one of the floral images was similar to the DSP’s flowers so I thought they would work nicely together. I stamped the flowers and ink splotches with Mint Macaron ink and the phrase with Highland Heather ink. To bring in a little more of the Highland Heather I used it to frame the stamped flowers. Then I popped up the phrase and the flowers with some Stampin’ Dimensionals.
To level up this #SimpleStamping with Designer Series Paper card you could use some dies to cut out the flowers and phrase. You can also add some rhinestones or gems for a little bit of bling.
