Alcohol Technique

I’m back with one more round of card swap sharing… at least from the Annual catalogue that is. The new August-December mini (holiday) catalogue is here and I’ve got a new batch of cards to share with you. So for this last bunch of cards I wanted to share some that featured the alcohol technique. This is a technique that I definitely want to try out. In the meantime I can share these great cards. And the nice thing about these cards is that this technique is achieved in a few different ways.

This first card was created using the Expressions in Ink Specialty Designer Series Paper. It’s been so popular that this pack of DSP has been unavailable a couple of times already. The colour for this monochromatic card is Polished Pink… one of the newest In Colours from the current Annual catalgoue. I really love the different layers and the foil of this card!

This next card was created by Colleen Weddell and shows off the actual technique. So she put some ink of a piece of vellum and then spritzed it with alcohol to get the colour to bleed and spread. Once it was dry she added some die cut layers using Basic White cardstock and gold foil and the Artistic dies. I also love that she added some gold gems and gold embossing to the card.

And this last card was made by Lorraine Melanson. It’s a slim line card that uses the Artistically Inked stamp set to create a similar effect. She also uses the coordinating Artistic dies to add some layers. The Pale Papaya ribbon is a nice touch and adds a little something more to the card.

I love joining my team for card swaps!! It’s a great way to get lots of card samples without breaking my budget. And these cards using the alcohol technique are some of my favourties.

If you want to check out the Expressions in Ink DSP in my online shop. And stay tuned for card swaps from the August-December mini (holiday) catalogue. And in the meantime you can check out some of the other card swaps here.
