Crafting on the Road

Whether my husband likes it or not, I always bring supplies with me so I can do some crafting on the road! And that includes our recent family camping trip as well as our trip to Disney earlier this year. What I bring depends a lot on what I’m working on at the time. But one thing that never changes are the tools that I bring with me! So here are the top 3 things I always make sure to have even when I’m trying to travel light.

1. Adhesives

Of course adhesives are at the top of my list! No matter where I go I have to have my Stampin’ SEAL (aka tape runner). Stampin’ SEAL is my go to adhesive for just about all of my projects. I also save the sheets of Mini Glue Dots from my Paper Pumpkin kits so I can bring a few of those along and not have to worry about them taking up a lot of space. These are great for the smaller pieces where Stampin’ SEAL just won’t work. Then if I have a little more room I’ll also bring some Stampin’ Dimensionals. If I don’t I leave the pieces I want to pop up until I get back home.

2. Simply Shammy

While I love my Stampin’ Scrub to clean my stamps, it’s not always the best option to bring on the road. So instead I bring my Simply Shammy. It fits perfectly into a clear stamp case and all I need is water! Plus it fits inside a Paper Pumpkin box which I often use to hold my paper supplies and a few other things. Then once I’m home I’ll give my stamps a good clean using my Stampin’ Scrub.

3. Take Your Pick Tool

I don’t know how I crafted before I got the Take Your Pick Tool! It’s such a great tool, so I definitely bring it with me wherever I go. It helps scoop up those Mini Glue Dots and any other embellishments I bring. The putty tip is great with embellishments and positioning my cardstock if I’ve brought a punch along. And in the case I need to reposition my cardstock or patterned paper I can use the spatula tip to slowly and carefully pull the paper up.

Now if I have more room I’ll bring my Paper Snips, Bone Folder and a couple of blocks. But really you don’t need a lot when you’re crafting on the road.
