It’s that time of year… when Stampin’ Up! needs to make room for the great new products coming with the new Annual Catalogue. Over that last few weeks I’ve been showing off the retiring 2020-2022 In Colours. Even though I’m excited for the new Annual Catalogue, I’m sad to see the retiring products go. This week it’s time to say goodbye Magenta Madness! The last of the In Colours. Last week I featured Cinnamon Cider. You can check that out here.
While I love using pink, this shade has been a bit tricky for me. I’ve mostly used it for Valentine’s cards, but for this card I wanted to do something different. Thankfully I remembered the Little Ladybug stamp set from the January-June Mini Catalogue. This is such a cute set and Magenta Madness is a great colour for a ladybug! I also used it for the flowers and did some tone on tone stamping for the ladybug’s spots. The other main colour for this card is Basic Black of course. Then I added some Just Jade for the leaves.
Basic Black was an obvious choice because of the ladybug’s body. But I love how it coordinates with strong colours like Magenta Madness. It really helps it pop without making the card feel like too much. I used some Basic Black cardstock to create a thin border and then used Tuxedo Black Memento ink for the phrase.
Once I punched the ladybug using the coordinating Ladybug Builder Punch, I popped it up with a couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then to finish it off I added a few Polished Dots to the centre of the flowers.
This is such a cute set and I can’t wait to get crafting with it some more! Don’t wait to grab Magenta Madness, or some of the other retiring products, before it’s goodbye Magenta Madness forever.
