Lately I’ve been sharing cards from a recent team card swap. Today I wanted to share the card I created for a Junkies sketch challenge that’s happening right now. Jenn’s Junkies is the name of our larger team. We often have different challenges we can participate in throughout the year and I always love a good sketch challenge. They’re a great way to try something new. Plus they help spark some inkspiration when I’m not sure what I want to craft. Here’s the sketch we were given…
For my card design I wanted to use some of the products from both the Sale-a-bration and August-December Mini (holiday) catalouges. I’m loving the Be Dazzling Designer Series Paper from the Sale-a-bration catalogue. And I’ve been having fun lately with the Frosted Gingerbread suite from the mini catalogue. So I started with picking a design from the Gingerbread & Peppermint DSP that would go well with the Be Dazzling DSP.
Once I had my design I used that for my colour combination. The card base is Old Olive and I used Real Red for my ink colour. I used the Be Dazzling DSP for my banner and then I added a couple of gingerbread oven mitts that I cut out for another project. I popped up the oven mitts using some Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then to add a little bit more bling I added a couple of Oval Rounds on either side of the phrase.
This Junkies sketch challenge was a lot of fun! I really like how this card turned out and I have an idea to use this sketch with the Penguins Playmates DSP from the Sale-a-bration catalgoue.
