Twas the night before Christmas and all my cards have been sent. And the goodies for my team members dropped off. So I thought I would share the card that I made for my team. It’s a Sweet Treats Christmas card… using both the stamp set and coordinating dies. This has been a fun set to craft with so I’m sad that these will be retiring.
For this Christmas card I wanted to go with traditional red and green. I used Old Olive for my card mat and added a Crumb Cake card base to go with the main colour of the fruit cake (the red comes in a bit). To add a little something more than just a plain mat, I embossed the Old Olive cardstock with the pine boughs from the Wintry 3D Embossing folders.
Then for the fruit cake I stamped with Crumb Cake ink. The cloche base and glass was stamped with Smoky Slate. I could have used Stampin’ Blends to colour my fruit cake, but decided to use my Water Colour pencils. For the cake I had to use Early Espresso very lightly since there isn’t a Crumb Cake pencil… which by the way there totally should be! Then for the holly and fruit cake pieces I used Old Olive and Real Red. I could’ve used the White pencil for the icing, but decided to colour it with my Wink of Stella Glitterbrush.
To cut out the phrase and images I used the Stitched Rectangles and Cloche dies. And then to add even more bling I used the Subtle Shimmer Sequins to create the shaker card. Then to add a little more Real Red, I wrapped some of the Sheer Real Red ribbon around the embossed Old Olive cardstock and tied a bow.
I love this Sweet Treats Christmas card! And I hope my team members do too. I also made them a Loaded Envelope filled with a few goodies from the new catalogue. Along with some tea, hot chocolate and other things. Of course I totally forgot to take pictures. But I think this’ll become a regular thing I do for my team members, so I’ll try to remember to take pictures next time. Want to join in the fun? Find out more here!
