Watercolouring with Flowers of Beauty

I’ve been feeling the itch to do some colouring lately! So I was excited when the idea for this card popped into my head. I’m using a combination of things to do some watercolouring with Flowers of Beauty.

It all started with the idea of using the Watercolour Pencils. So I used them to choose my cardstock. I’m using Garden Green for my card base. And another little strip of it that I embossed with the Cane Weave 3D embossing folder.

My card mat is just a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper. I stamped some flowers from the Flowers of Beauty stamp set in Basic Beige ink. The leaves are from the Layering Leaves stamp set. Then I coloured the flowers with Flirty Flamingo and Melon Mambo. And the leaves with Granny Apple Green and Garden Green.

To soften and blend the colours I dipped the thinnest Water Painter in some water and brushed off the excess onto a piece of paper towel. Then I gently painted over the petals and leaves that I had coloured with the Watercolour Pencils.

I layered the embossed cardstock on top. Then I added a few Brushed Brass Butterflies. I debated about adding a sentiment, but in the end I decided not to use one. I’m curious to hear if you would have added a sentiment. Here it is…

Watercolouring with Flowers of Beauty was definitely a great combination! I’ll definitely need to do this again.
