Another Paper Craft Crew Challenge!

My creative juices were really flowing this past weekend… with rain and icy roads we didn’t go anywhere which meant I spent ALOT of time stamping! I can’t remember the last time I did that, definitely need to do that more often. As part of my weekend creativity I created a card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Challenge (PCC365). Here’s the sketch…

I also took this opportunity to create a Valentine’s card. I’m in the midst of stamping and crafting for a February craft fair and trying to get ahead on Valentine’s Day so this was a fun way to combine my efforts.

For the colour combination, I went with one that has been in my head but didn’t have a design yet as my starting off point; Petal Pink and Rich Razzleberry. I used Petal Pink cardstock for the card base and Rich Razzleberry cardstock for the card mat. Then for the majority of the stamped images I used Very Vanilla cardstock with a little bit of tone on tone stamping on a small piece of Petal Pink cardstock.

In terms of the images, I used two different stamp sets… the Beauty Abounds cling stamp set comes from the Annual Catalogue and the Heartfelt photopolymer stamp set comes from the new January-June Mini Catalogue. I love using the paint splatter and bubbles from the Beauty Abounds stamp set as they can be used as background/accent images for just about any project! Can you tell I miss the retired Gorgeous Grunge stamp set?!

The paint splatter and small hearts I stamped using Petal Pink ink and the large heart and small bubbles I stamped with Rich Razzleberry ink. I really wanted the sentiment from the large heart to stand out and the Rich Razzleberry really helped with that.

I also added a piece of Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper (which you can earn for free right now during Sale-a-bration) just behind the large heart, popped up the large heart with some Stampin’ Dimensionals and added a few different sized Rhinestone Basic Jewels. Gotta have some bling!!

I love how this card turned out and I’m hoping that it gets a good reception at the craft fair in February. To check out the challenge just check out papercraftcrew.com/pcc365!
