Farewell to Cinnamon Cider

It’s time to show off another of the retiring 2020-2022 In Colours! And this week I’m saying farewell to Cinnamon Cider. This colour along with Bumblebee, which I featured here last week, were challenging for me to use. I did end up using a lot of it though leading up to Christmas because I love the Frosted Gingerbread bundle. I’m going to miss that bundle this Christmas! Any way…

To get this design going picked a stamp set that I thought could work with this 2020-2022 In Colour. And in this case it was Timeless Tropical, which is also retiring soon. This helped me choose my other colour for this combination, Coastal Cabana. I really wanted to show off the Cinnamon Cider and thought the best way to do that would be by embossing some of the cardstock. The Bark 3D embossing folder has a nice texture to it that I thinks works well with the tropical theme. Tasteful Textile also would have worked.

Next I stamped the phrase and the palms trees. The palm trees I stamped off on a scrap piece of paper first because I needed a lighter shade so I could colour the leaves. To do this I used some Pear Pizzazz ink and a Blender Pen. It turned out really nicely! Then to bring in more Coastal Cabana I stamped a few of the small flowers. One on the same piece of cardstock as the phrase and palm trees. And the other two on a separate piece of cardstock which I then fussy cut.

To frame the phrase and palm trees I cut them out using one of the Stitched Rectangles dies. Then I popped it up, along with my two small flowers, using some Stampin’ Dimensionals. And for my little bit of bling I added a couple Opal Rounds to the centre of my flowers.

Farewell to Cinnamon Cider

I hope you liked my farewell to Cinnamon Cider!

Some of the 2020-2022 In Colour products are starting to sell out. And so are a lot of the retiring stamp sets. So if some of your favourites are retiring don’t wait! Head over to my online shop and see if they’re still available.

Goodbye to Bumblebee

The time has come to say goodbye to the 2020-2022 In Colours! Misty Moonlight, Just Jade, Bumblebee, Magenta Madness and Cinnamon Cider. So over the next few weeks I’m going to feature one of the retiring In Colours. Last week I featured Just Jade in my Fancy Folds Design team blog hop. You can check that out here. This week it’s time to say goodbye to Bumblebee.

I have to admit that it took me a while to warm up to this In Colour. Yellows are not a colour I use alot, but this is a nice one! Once I found some good coordinating colours it was a lot easier to use. I made this card for my dad’s recent 82nd birthday. It was so nice to be able to see him in person and not worry about masks. So with my dad in mind I knew I had to use the retiring A Good Man stamp set. This is one that I’m sure I’ll hold onto even after it’s officially retired. The images and phrase are so wonderful!

From here I decided to use some of one of the woodgrain designs from the In Good Taste Specialty Designer Series Paper (also retiring). That helped with the colour combination which is Early Espresso and Bumblebee. To soften the Bumblebee I used the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder. I liked this idea instead of stamping some images on the cardstock for this card. It really makes the image of the man holding the child the feature which is what I wanted.

To add a little something more to this card I cut out the image using the Stitched Rectangles dies. Thankfully these are carrying over! I popped up the image with some Stampin’ Dimensionals and then added a few Brushed Metallic Dots, which are also carrying over. Here’s the card…

While it’s sad to say goodbye to Bumblebee and all the other retiring products, a lot of great products are sticking around! Now remember these products are only available while supplies last… and the 2020-2022 In Colour products will sell out quickly. Head over to my online shop to grab your favourites before they’re gone. And if you’d like to see the full list here it is.
