Goodbye to Bumblebee

Goodbye to Bumblebee

The time has come to say goodbye to the 2020-2022 In Colours! Misty Moonlight, Just Jade, Bumblebee, Magenta Madness and Cinnamon Cider. So over the next few weeks I’m going to feature one of the retiring In Colours. Last week I featured Just Jade in my Fancy Folds Design team blog hop. You can check that out here. This week it’s time to say goodbye to Bumblebee.

I have to admit that it took me a while to warm up to this In Colour. Yellows are not a colour I use alot, but this is a nice one! Once I found some good coordinating colours it was a lot easier to use. I made this card for my dad’s recent 82nd birthday. It was so nice to be able to see him in person and not worry about masks. So with my dad in mind I knew I had to use the retiring A Good Man stamp set. This is one that I’m sure I’ll hold onto even after it’s officially retired. The images and phrase are so wonderful!

From here I decided to use some of one of the woodgrain designs from the In Good Taste Specialty Designer Series Paper (also retiring). That helped with the colour combination which is Early Espresso and Bumblebee. To soften the Bumblebee I used the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder. I liked this idea instead of stamping some images on the cardstock for this card. It really makes the image of the man holding the child the feature which is what I wanted.

To add a little something more to this card I cut out the image using the Stitched Rectangles dies. Thankfully these are carrying over! I popped up the image with some Stampin’ Dimensionals and then added a few Brushed Metallic Dots, which are also carrying over. Here’s the card…

While it’s sad to say goodbye to Bumblebee and all the other retiring products, a lot of great products are sticking around! Now remember these products are only available while supplies last… and the 2020-2022 In Colour products will sell out quickly. Head over to my online shop to grab your favourites before they’re gone. And if you’d like to see the full list here it is.
