Handmade Father’s Day Card

June is here! Soon it’ll be summer and in just a couple of weeks is Father’s Day. There’s lot going on around here. Hopefully it settles down soon so I can get to my garden. In the meantime I’m sharing a handmade Father’s Day card. I was very glad to hear that the He’s All That stamp set and dies were carrying over to the new Annual Catalogue! This was one of the first sets I got when it came out in last year’s catalogue and I’ve been enjoying crafting with it. It’s definitely made making masculine cards a lot easier!

For this card I put Mossy Meadow and Crushed Curry together for my colour combination. I also added in a splash of Night of Navy. The sentiment is from the He’s All That stamp set, of course. Next I die cut it using one of the coordinating dies and then popped it off with a couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals.

In the background I stamped some paint splatter using the Quiet Meadow stamp set. And added a few of the argyle die cuts around the sentiment. For these I used all three colours and popped them up using some of the Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then to finish it off I added a few Brushed Metallic Dots. A nice way to add some bling to your masculine cards!

Now this isn’t the handmade Father’s Day card I’ll be giving to my dad. But I’ll definitely be using the He’s All That stamps and dies!

Check out another card I made using He’s All That here.

And grab the stamp set and dies over in my online shop.

Slide and Lock

Fancy Folds Design Team

Time for another Fancy Folds Design Team blog hop! This month we’re making the Slide and Lock fancy fold card. I was super excited when I saw that this was the fold we’d be doing this month. Back in April when I “attended” OnTour , some fellow demonstrators shared some cards they had made and this was one of them! I’ll have a simple project sheet for you at the end of this post so make sure to grab it. You can also check out this video by Lisa Curcio showing off the slide and lock card.

For my card I started with the idea of creating a Father’s Day card. With it being just a month away I’m getting into my masculine theme mindset. Plus I love the Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper and one of the designs works perfectly. So I started with the wood grain design from this DSP pack and paired it with Misty Moonlight as my base.

Sticking with the Father’s Day theme I chose the A Good Man stamp set. This set has some really nice images and phrases. It’s definitely going to be used alot over the next couple of weeks. For the inside I simply stamped the heart image using Early Espresso ink.

For the outside of the card I used the image of a child on a man’s shoulders with Early Espresso ink. I also used the phrase “you’re the best” which I stamped in Misty Moonight ink. To cut each of these out I used one of the Stitched Rectangles dies and one from the Beautiful Trees dies. I debated about adding some Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop them up even more, but decided not to. I did want to add a little something more though so I added some Linen Thread.

This is such a fun and easy card to make! Here’s my simple project sheet with measurement and instructions if you’d like to try this yourself.
