#SimpleStamping with Flowers of Beauty

This week I’m sharing some #SimpleStamping with Flowers of Beauty; one of the new stamp sets in the Annual Catalogue. I thought it’d be a great set for the theme of this month’s #SimpleStamping challenge from Stampin’ Up!… love or sympathy. Sadly I actually need a sympathy card so that’s the theme I picked. The other piece to this month’s challenge is that we can only use stamps, ink, paper and an embellishment. So a little something extra this time!

I quickly thought of using the 2023-2025 In Colour Opaque Sparkle dots for my embellishment. So that helped with my colour combination; Boho Blue and Wild Wheat. I’m using Wild Wheat for my card case and Boho Blue for my card mat. Then on my card mat I did some tone on tone stamping with one of the flowers from the Flowers of Beauty stamp set. I also stamped my sentiment with Boho Blue ink. It comes from the Something Fancy stamp set.

Next I made a smaller card front than usual and I framed it with some more Wild Wheat cardstock. This way you can see the Boho Blue flowers on the card mat. On the smaller card front I stamped some of the taller foliage using both Wild Wheat and Boho Blue ink. I popped this up with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then to finish it off I added a few Wild Wheat dots.

When you do #SimpleStamping with Flowers of Beauty, or other stamp sets with great images, your cards can turn out just as pretty as those with lots of layers and die cuts, etc.

#SimpleStamping Sympathy Card

This month’s challenge from Stampin’ Up! is to create a #SimpleStamping sympathy card, or love themed. The #SimpleStamping challenges are always similar in that you can only use stamps, ink and paper. Sometimes though they offer a little something extra to use. This month we could also use a punch. At first I thought of making a love themed/Valentine’s Day card with the Heart Punch Pack. I just love how these two punches coordinate! But then I thought I’d make a sympathy card instead. It’s the kind of card you need to have, but usually never feel up to making… or at least I don’t.

So for my card I decided to pair up the Quiet Meadow stamp set and the Daisy Punch. I know it’s not the most likely combination, but I love the images and phrases from Quiet Meadow and I love layering the daisies to add more depth and layers to my cards. My colour combination is also not the most obvious either; Pale Papaya and Crumb Cake.

I did a little tone-on-tone stamping with Pale Papaya. And then used Crumb Cake to stamp some ink splatter on both the card front and the cardstock for my daisies. I layered the two daisies on top of each other and then pulled up on the petals gently. Then I popped them up with some Stampin’ Dimensionals along with the phrase.

#simpleStamping Sympathy Card

I really like how this #SimpleStamping sympathy card worked out. Bright but not too bright. Usually I add some bling to the centre of my daisies but couldn’t this time. But then I forgot to stamp one of the small flowers in the centre. I think that would have looked nice!
