Slimline Watercolour

My creative juices were a little slow with helping my figure out what I wanted to create this week. Eventually the idea of using the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set to create a slimline watercolour cards of sorts popped into my head. Some of my inkspiration also came from it being Pride month. And I thought a rainbow of butterflies would be fun. It ended up turning into a watercolour background with butterflies I coloured using Stampin Blends.

The card base is Basic Black. Then I used Bubble Bath, Fresh Freesia and Pool Party ink and a Water Painter to create a watercolour background. Once it dried, I added some speckles from the same stamp set using the same ink colours to do a sort of tone on tone stamping. I also added a sentiment from the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set using Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

For the butterflies, I stamped them all with Tuxedo Black Memento ink. Then I coloured them different colours to create a rainbow. I used Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Shaded Spruce, Pool Party and Highland Heather. Next I die cut them with the coordinating die and popped them up with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Slimline Watercolour

This card was fun to make and definitely fit my need to do some colouring this week! I hope you like the variation of a slimline watercolour card.

Decorative Masks and Blending Brushes

I’m seriously getting into my Christmas crafting this week! And not just because I’ll be at a Christmas market next weekend, lol. With Halloween over I can really start getting into the holiday spririt. So I’m pulling out the Frosted Forest Decorative Masks and Blending Brushes this week.

Since I’m using the evergreen tree masks for this card, my colour combination is pretty obvious; green and brown. And in this case I’m using Shaded Spruce and Crumb Cake. The Shaded Spruce is for my card base and then the Crumb Cake is for the card mat.

On top of that I added a layer of Very Vanilla cardstock. The sentiment is from the Christmas Labels stamp set stamped with Shaded Spruce ink. Then I stamped the ink splatter image from the Layering Leaves stamp set around the edges with Crumb Cake ink. On another piece of Very Vanilla cardstock I used a Blending Brush and the 3 evergreen masks to create the smaller evergreen tree in Shaded Spruce. Once that dried I added a layer of glitter using the Wink of Stella Glitterbrush.

To turn this into a tag I used one of the small dies from the Something Fancy set of dies and cut the top corners on an angle. Next I added some of the online exclusive Natural Polka Dot trim and popped up the whole thing with some Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Decorative Masks and Blending Brushes

I love using the Frosted Forest Decorative Masks and Blending Brushes together! They make it so easy to create some great images! I can’t wait to use them again. Maybe with some white ink or embossing paste. There’s also a larger evergreen tree.

There’s also some non-evergreen tree masks in this set. Check out a card I made using those ones here.

Merry Christmas and Happy 2024!

I want to take a moment and wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy 2024! It’s been a busy few days for us here. We visited with both sides of the family, enjoyed great food and the munchkins were very happy to get a “few” presents. Lol!

For this year’s Christmas card for my customers I used the Cottage Wreaths bundle from the Annual catalogue and the retiring Christmas Tidings embossing folder. Shaded Spruce is my main colour, but I did throw in a splash of Cherry Cobbler for the berries. Great Christmas colours!
