I haven’t made a slimline card in a long time. Maybe that’s because I don’t have the right size envelopes… I really should do something about that! In the meantime, I was inkspired by a design I saw online and decided to make my own slimline Christmas card.
For this card I’m pulling out the More than Autumn bundle. This is probably my favourite bundle in the Holiday Mini catalogue! And since this is a Christmas card, I’m using the little candy cane and gingerbread cookie as inkspiration for my colours. Crumb Cake is the card base and Real Red is the card mat. The card base is 7″ x 9″, scored at 3 1/2″ on the short side.
On top of that I stamped a few candy canes using Real Red ink and some hearts in Crumb Cake ink. The gingerbread cookies I decided to stamp in Pecan Pie. Then I stamped a bunch of the cups. Double what I actually needed so I could use the top part of half of them to create lids.
Then I coloured the cups with the light and dark Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends. And each cup sleeve got either a candy cane or gingerbread cookie. I stamped them with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then coloured them with the light versions of the Real Red and Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blends. Once these were done I stacked them all up on the card with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then on top of that I layered on the sentiment that I stamped with Pecan Pie, Crumb Cake and Real Red ink.
The More than Autumn bundle makes a great slimline Christmas card don’t you think?! I’m definitely not ready to put this bundle away yet! This is definitely what I’ll be using for the cards for our friends and family.
