More Crafting with Perennial Lavender

This week’s card design comes from the Paper Craft Crew. It’s been kind of hectic around here lately so I haven’t joined in any challenges for a while. But I thought this was a fun design, so I’m giving it a go, even if I’m not joining in. The inkspiration for my colours, etc. came from my recent visit to a local lavender farm. While I was there I felt the need to do more crafting with Perennial Lavender. It’s such a pretty pack of patterned paper!

For my cardstock and ink colour I wanted to use a colour from the pack that I haven’t used yet. So I’m using Blackberry Bliss… one of my favourite colours! On top of the Blackberry Bliss card base I added a piece of one of the darker Designer Series Paper designs. Then on top of that I added a small piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock and a sentiment from the Sketched Butterflies stamp set that I stamped on some Basic White cardstock with Blackberry Bliss ink. I popped these up with some Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To finish it off I added a few Basic White butterflies using the Sketched Butterflies dies. And of course a little bit of bling with a few Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels.

I’m loving this pack of patterned paper! And can’t wait to do even more crafting with Perennial Lavender, so keep checking back.

Heads up… this pack of patterned paper, along with about a dozen or more packs, will be on sale starting next week. I’ll share more details in my next post.

Simple Flip Card

I’m not really sure if you can call this a fun fold card. And I’m not sure if this design has a name. So I’m calling it a Simple Flip card because the card front flips open. this is also a fun card design because it doesn’t have a full card front like the cards I usually make. So pare of what’s on the “card front” is also part of the “inside” of the card.

I’m big into Lost Lagoon monochromatic card this week. So I pulled a Lost Lagoon design from the Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper pack. I added that to the part of the card that flips open. Next to that I stamped a few of the little butterflies from the Sketched Butterflies stamp set.

then on top of the piece of patterned paper, I added a couple more butterflies using the stamp and dies. I popped them both up with some Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals along with the sentiment. The sentiment is from the Layering Leaves stamp set. And I die cut it with the Something Fancy dies. To finish it off I added a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Simple Flip Card

If you can think of a better name than Simple Flip card, let me know. Or if you know the actual name of this card design, let me know. I usually try to capture the name in the pictures on my phone, but somehow this one disappeared.

More Watercolouring with Flowers of Beauty

I scratched the itch last week and so I just had to do some more watercolouring with Flowers of Beauty! Stamp sets like this with big and simple images are great for watercolouring. Especially if you’re just starting out! It’s always nice to have room to add a little more water to smooth out any extra bits of colour.

This time I’m using Misty Moonlight as my main colour. There is some Basic Beige in there too. Other than the sentiment from the Layering Leaves stamp set though, it’s kind of hard to see. So I stamped the sentiment and two of the taller foliage images on the Fluid 100 Watercolour paper in Basic Beige. Once the ink was dry I used the same technique as last time… I coloured with the Watercolour Pencils first and then used a little bit of water and a Water Painter to smooth it out. Sadly there isn’t a Misty Moonlight Watercolour Pencil. So I used Balmy Blue and then added a little bit of Night of Navy on top.

On top of that I added a strip of Misty Moonlight cardstock that I embossed with the Cane Weave 3D Embossing Folder. Then on top of that I added a piece of County Woods Designer Series Paper that I punched with the 2 3/8″ Circle Punch and popped up with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. And on top of that I added two Misty Moonlight butterflies using the Sketched Butterflies bundle.

More Watercolouring with Flowers of Beauty

I’m having so much fun with this, I think I’ll have to do even more watercolouring with Flowers of Beauty!

Sketched Butterflies

If you’ve been following me for a while, then you know that I LOVE butterflies! So when I saw the Sketched Butterflies bundle in the new Annual Catalogue. But sadly, I couldn’t get it as part of my preorder. So I totally took advantage of this month’s sale on all the stamp and die bundles.

For this first card I’m keeping my design farily simple. I’m using Crumb Bake for my card base. Then I’m using a few different designs from the Perennial Lavender Designer Series PAper to make a fun background. I also pulld my other ink colour from the DSP; Gorgeous Grape.

On top of my DSP card mat I have a small square of Basic White cardstock that I stamped with some of the medium sized butterflies. I freamed it with some Gorgeous Grape carstock. And then I popped it up with a few Stampin Dimensionals.

The sentiment also comes from the Sketched Butterflies stamp set. I stamped that with Crumb Cake ink and layered that next to the stamped butterflies with a Stampin’ Dimensional and some Stampin’ SEAL. Then to finish is off I added a few Brushed Brass Butterflies.

Sketched Butterflies

These butterflies are so pretty! I can’t wait to craft some more with the Sketched Butterflies stamp set and dies! So stay tuned for more projects.

In the meantime you can check out another card I made using the gorgeous Perennial Lavender DSP here.
