Suspended Book Fold Card

It’s been quite a while since I shared a fancy fold card and so when I saw this one I couldn’t resist! It’s a Suspended Book fold card. Now this card is a little bigger than I usually make. It’s 5″ x 7″ instead of 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. But I love how this card looks!

I’m still deep into my Christmas crafting, so my card design is Christmas themed. Although I did go in a little bit of a different direction with some of my colours. My main colour is Misty Moonlight. I’m using that colour because I wanted to use the Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper pack. I just love the designs in this pack of patterned paper. And I’m so glad that it’s not retiring!

For my sentiment and images I’m using the Joy of Noel bundle. I used Misty Moonlight ink for the berry branches and “Noel”. And for the pine boughs I used Garden Green cardstock. I stuck the pine boughs and berry branches to the back of the sentiment first. That made it so much easier to then stick it all to the strip of window sheet.

Here it is….

Suspended Book Fold Card

The Suspended Book fold card is probably one of my favourites! I might need to make another version of this.

Check out another card I made using the Joy of Noel bundle here.

And just in case you love this bundle as much as I do, you’ll want to grab it before it retires on January 3rd… or sooner if it sells out. You can find it in my online shop.

Easy Wiper Pop Up Card

Fancy Folds Design Team

I wasn’t able to join last month’s blog hop, so I’m excited to get back to it! This month we’re making an Easy Wiper Pop Up card. I think we did something similar quite a while back, but this one was definitely easy! For all the measurements and step by step instructions check out this video from Jacque, a demonstrator from New Zealand (I’m pretty sure).

For my design I wanted to add some pretty Designer Series Paper. I just love the Hello Irresistible DSP! The colours and designs are so pretty. And I wanted to use a design I haven’t used yet. The one I chose has Daffodil Delight and Pretty Peacock as it’s colours. So I decided to use Daffodil Delight for my card base. I also used Daffodil Delight to stamp a few flowers using the Season of Chic stamp set and coordinating dies.

For the sentiment I stamped with Pretty Peacock ink. Then I attached it to a piece of Window Sheet which is attached to the mechanism that makes it pop up. And to finish it off I added a bunch of Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Easy Wiper Pop Up Card

Check out the next Easy Wiper Pop Up card over on Mette Nordling Shaw’s blog here. And then be sure to keep hopping around the world to see them all!

And you can check out the similar wiper card that I mentioned earlier here.

Mystery Fun Fold

I found a picture of this mystery fun fold on Pinterest. It’s nice and simple! And I haven’t tried it before so I thought I’d give it a go. Plus it’s a fun way to show off some of the By the Bay Specialty Designer Series Paper that’s retiring very soon.

To figure out my colour combination I started with picking my DSP design. I love the main design I used for this card because it has a few different colours and I love all the seashells. When I was younger I loved exploring beaches looking for seashells.

For the card base I used Pool Party. I also used Pool Party ink for some tone on tone stamping. I wanted a little something behind the strip of Sahara Sand DSP. On top of the strip of DSP I stamped a sentiment from Friends are like Seashells in Petal Pink. Then I die cut the sentiment with one of the Something Fancy dies and popped it up with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. To finish it off I added a few of the Pastel Adhesive Backed Gems.

Mystery Fun Fold

If anyone knows the name of this mystery fun fold please let me know. And I’d love to see your versions if you give it a try.

Sadly the By the Bay DSP and Friends are like Seashells stamp set are retiring. To find out more about how the last chance sale works check out my post here. And the best place to see what’s still available is my online shop. Don’t wait! Things have been selling out fast! It’s been hard to keep up this time around.

Window Slider Card

Fancy Folds Design Team

A new month means a new Fancy Folds Design Team blog hop! And this month we’re making a Window Slider card! Even though I needed to take my time with this one, it’s still an easy card to make. Check out this video from Dawn, a US demonstrator. She gives the measurements and you can go step by step along with her if you need to.

This week I’m crafting with all things green since today is St. Patrick’s Day. So that’s where I started with my design. I’m using Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen because these greens go so well together. But also because I want to show off these great colours before they retire and while they’re still available. I used Evening Evergreen as the card base and a piece of the In Colour Designer Series Paper in Soft Succulent for the card mat.

Most of the images and the sentiment on the front of the card come from the Bottled Happiness stamp set. I also threw in a splash of Fresh Freesia for the flowers because I love how greens and purples go together. But the hidden sentiment comes from the Friends are like Seashells stamp set. I really hope this one carries over… it’s definitely a favourite of mine, no matter what time of year it is!

To make it easier to slide out the inner piece of Basic White cardstock I used my retired 1/2″ circle punch. This is one I’m never getting rid of! And then to finish it off I added a few Pearl Basic Jewels around the “window”.

Check out the next Window Slider card by Mette Nording Shaw from Australia here. And remember to keep hopping around the world to see them all!

To check out last month’s Fancy Folds Design Team blog hop, start here. Last month we made a Diamond Flip Fold card.

Decorative Borders

I got the Decorative Borders stamp set back in November at OnStage. That’s when I was knee deep in my holiday crafting and not too long after that we were off to Disney. So I haven’t really had a chance to craft with it yet. Finally I’m digging it out!

For this card I decided to make a Z-fold card. This is one of my favourite fun folds. And for my colour combination I’m using Pear Pizzazz and Crumb Cake. Pear Pizzazz is probably my favourite colour for leaves and other greenery. And with Spring coming I have a feeling I’ll be using it alot!

To start, I stamped a little something on the inside piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. Then I stamped a wall of foliage for the outer panel using Pear Pizzazz. I also did some tone on tone stamping for the middle panel.

The sentiment comes from the Something Fancy stamp set. I stamped it with Crumb Cake ink and cut it out with one of the coordinating dies. Then I popped it up some some Stampin’ Dimensionals.

A few more ideas popped in my head as I was making this card. So I’m looking forward to crafting some more with the Decorative Borders stamp set.

Check out another card I made with this stamp set here. Sadly the other stamp set I used, Adorable Owls, is no longer available. But you can really swap in any stamp set from your craft stash.

Need some supplies? Head over to my online shop and grab the Decorative Borders stamp set… along with whatever else you need!

Diamond Flip Fold Card

Fancy Folds Design Team

The Fancy Folds Design team is back for another year of fun fancy folds! And this month we’re making a Diamond Flip Fold card. It’s a nice simple fun fold card to ease back into things. For measurements and video instructions, check out this video from Linda Bauwin, a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator from the United States. And the measurements I used for my Basic White squares is 2 7/8″ x 2 7/8″.

This week I’m crafting with the Beautifully Happy stamp set from the Sale-a-bration catalogue. So I started my design with that in mind. One of my colours is of course a green (Mint Macaron) and so I pulled out the Country Gingham 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper. The smaller design from this sheet really helps the flowers be the focal point. Then to go with the Mint Macaron I chose Fresh Freesia. It’s such a pretty purple and I love pairing greens and purples together!

For the stamping I stamped the outline with full strength Mint Macaron. But for the “filling in” I stamped off for the leaves and buds. Then it was back to full strength for the flowers. I added a sentiment from the In the Moment stamp set to go on the inside. And went with Crumb Cake for my ink colour. As much as I love Fresh Freesia, I wanted a more subtle colour for the sentiment I chose. Then to finish it off I added a few of the Flat Adhesive Backed Pearls to add a little bit of bling. I also added some Wink of Stella to the flowers once they were fully dry.

To keep going on this month’s Diamond Flip Fold card hop, check out Mette Nordling Shaw’s card here.

You can also check out last month’s hop here, where we made a Shaded Gatefold card. That was definitely a fun one!

And don’t forget… Sale-a-bration is almost over! So if you’d like to earn the Beautifully Happy stamp set that I used in today’s card then head over to my online shop before February 28th!

Shaded Gatefold Card

Fancy Folds Design Team

It’s time for the last Fancy Folds Design team blog hop of 2022! I really enjoy these hops and can’t wait to make even more fun and fancy folds next year! For this month’s hop we’re making a Shaded Gatefold Card. This one works out to be a different size than my usual cards, so I’ll just have to make a special envelope for it with some pretty patterned paper. Jan B, a demonstrator from the UK, has a great video to help you through all the steps. I highly suggest taking it slow once you’ve scored and folded the card base. The folding in of it took me a couple of tries. You can find her video here.

For my card design I stuck with a Basic White card base. Keeps it simple and helps with the snowy winter theme. I wanted to create a cute little scene inside the card using the Penguin Place bundle. The snowflakes and hill are stamped with Pool Party ink. And for the penguins I used Tuxedo Black Memento ink and Pale Papaya. The coordinating punch makes it really easy to create more friends. These penguins are super cute! I’m sad to see these guys retiring.

To go with my penguin friends I used the Snowflake Specialty Vellum. And on the outside I used some of the snowflakes from the Joyful Flurry stamp set. To adhere the vellum I was very strategic with my Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue. I definitely didn’t want any glue peeking out from behind these iridescent dots!

The Shaded Gatefold card was definitely a fun one to make! My littlest munchkin is already asking me if he can have it, lol!

Keep hopping to see the other’s designs! Up next is Mette Nordling Shaw. You can see her design here.

You can also check out last month’s hop where we made a Dual Pop-Up card.

Spruced Up

With every new catalogue our larger team always does a card swap. And the July-December mini catalogue is no different. For my swap I wanted to step it up a little while keeping it simple. I especially like to keep it simple when I have to make a lot of cards at once. So I made a book fold card using the Spruced Up bundle.

I have a few different elements to this card so I wanted to have a neutral card base. Crumb Cake works nicely for this and is probably my favourite brown to craft with. On the “spine” of my card front I have a strip of one of the designs from the Painted Christmas Designer Series Paper. I love the colours and patterns in this DSP pack, don’t you?! For the main part of my card front I embossed a piece of Basic White cardstock using the snowy mountain range from the Charming Landscapes embossing folders. I thought it makes a really nice background for the other elements.

I stamped the large tree with Evening Evergreen and then cut it out with the coordinating die. And the phrase is actually 2 phrases from the Spruced Up stamp set. I really love these two together! To stamp them I place them as close together on the block as I can. I stamped the phrase in Evening Evergreen too. Then I die cut it with one of the All That dies and popped it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. To finish it off I added a few Festive Pearls. These are another favourite of mine from the July-December mini catalogue. And apparently a lot of people agree… I’ve seen it out of stock a couple of times already.

Here’s my card…

All Spruced Up

Check out some of the cards I got from this recent card swap here. I’ll be sharing more here in the upcoming weeks, so stay tuned! And you can check out the Spruced Up bundle in my online shop.

Curvy Pop-Up Card

Fancy Folds Design Team

This month the Fancy Folds Design Team is making a Curvy Pop-Up card. I saw this fun fold a while ago and am glad to finally get the chance to make one of my own. This is such a cute card and I love that it’s so easy to make! To make your own, check out the video I shared on my YouTube channel here. In that version I used the Penguin Place bundle from the July-December Mini and the Silver & Gold Designer Series Paper from the Sale-a-bration catalogues. It includes the measurements and you can follow along with me step by step.

In my first version I used the All Spruced Up bundle. It’s such a fun set of stamps and dies to craft with! Then to keep with the Christmas theme I decided to use the Painted Christmas Designer Series Paper. It’s so pretty and I used it to choose my colour combination for the card. I used Evening Evergreen as the main colour with a splash of Soft Succulent.

For the pop-up in the centre I used a combination of stamped images that I cut out using the coordinating dies along with some simple cardstock cut outs. The larger ones in the back I added using Stampin’ SEAL and the smaller ones with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The phrase I cut out using the Stitched Rectangles dies. Then added a few of the Festive Pearls to add a bit of bling. You can also add a little bit of Wink of Stella Glitterbrush to the die cut trees if you want a little more. To have somewhere to add a note, just add some Basic White cardstock on the back.

Such a cute fun fold card right?! Make sure to keep hopping around the world. Up next is the Curvy Pop-Up card from Mette Nordling-Shaw. Check that out here.

And check out last month’s hop here, where we made a Mirror Fold card.

Fun Fold Card

I saw a post from Jo Blackman a couple of weeks ago showing this cute fun fold card and I knew that I wanted to give it a try. My first thought was to use the Penguin Place stamp set for my design. For the other design that I used for my YouTube channel, I picked the Sale-a-bration stamp set Hippest Hippos. Check out my video here.

From here I needed to pick the Designer Series Paper I was using so I could get my colour combination. For the Penguin Place card design I paired it with the Sale-a-bration Silver & Gold Designer Series Paper, so I used a Pool Party card base. And for the Hippest Hippos card I used one of the designs from the Hues of Happiness pack of Designer Series Paper with a Petal Pink card base. This piece of patterned paper also helped me pick the hippo for my card!

On the inside of the card I stamped the full versions of my cute critters. Adding some of the cute accessories for my penguin and the Watercolour Pencils to colour my hippo. My critters and phrases were all die cut using the Layering Circles dies, even the scalloped cardstock. Then I popped up the framed phrases using Stampin’ Dimensionals. But my plain critters I kept on the same level as the DSP.

Fun Fold Card

I kept the outside of the cards simple. If you want you can add some Rhinestone Basic Jewels or Brushed Brass Butterflies. That would add a little something more to this fun fold card.

Fun Fold Card

You can check out another of my recent fun fold cards here. Each month I join the Fancy Folds Design team for a blog hop and earlier this month we made a Mirror Fold card.

Mirror Fold Card

Fancy Folds Design Team

It’s blog hop time again! And this month the Fancy Folds Design Team is making a Mirror Fold Card. I saw this card a little while ago and am excited to share it with you. For measurements and steps to try this yourself check out my YouTube video. Just as a heads up there were a couple of parts that were a bit tricky, but I still love how these cards turned out.

For whatever reason I decided to make two different versions of this card. Maybe it’s the excitement from the newly launched July-December mini catalogue. Who knows?! Anyway… I made one version using the Hues of Happiness suite of products to make a birthday card. And the other version is a Christmas card using the All Spruced Up bundle.

For the birthday card I used Melon Mambo for the card base and a simple design for my patterned paper. The Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper is sssooo pretty, but I wanted a simple design so the the flowers would be the focus. I cut out the flowers using the coordinating dies. Don’t you just love it when the dies work for both the stamped images AND the images in the DSP pack? I know I do! I popped up the flowers on the front panel using some Stampin’ Dimensionals and then heat embossed “happy birthday” in white on a piece of Basic Black cardstock. Then to finish it off I added a couple of Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Mirror Fold Card

For the Christmas card I used Pear Pizzazz for my card base and the Painted Christmas Designer Series Paper. I’m so glad this pack of patterned paper is back! The designs are so pretty and some can be used for occasions other than Christmas too. To decorate this version I used the All Spruced Up dies with a few different papers, including the Gold & Silver Foil DSP from the Sale-a-bration catalogue. I cut out the phrase with one of the He’s All That dies and popped it up with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. And when I finally found my Festive Pearls I added a couple of the gold ones to the card to finish it off.

Mirror Fold Card

I hope you enjoy this month’s fun fold! Keep hopping around the world and check out the next Mirror Fold Card from Mette Nordling Shaw here.

And you can always check out what we made last month, which was a Diamond Z Fold card. Check out that hop starting here.

Diamond Z-Fold Card

Fancy Folds Design Team

It’s that time of the month… time for a Fancy Fold Design Team blog hop! This month we’re making a Diamond Z-Fold card. I love the look of this card! It’s so neat! To see it step by step, check out this video from Jan, a Stampin’ Up! demo from the UK. She has a couple great tips and all the measurements you’ll need to make your own.

For my design as soon as I saw this fun fold I knew I wanted to use the Happiness Abounds suite. I just LOVE this Designer Series Paper… so pretty and so colourful! This is a great card to show off a couple of the designs. But with so many great designs to choose from I needed to pick my colour combination first. I went with Coastal Cabana as my base colour. It’s such a nice bright colour, but not too overpowering. Next I choose a design that had that colour along with a few others; Fresh Freesia, Gorgeous Grape, Melon Mambo and more. The other design is simply the flip side of the first one.

On top of each of the diamonds I have flowers from this same stamp set. To start I stamped them in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on some Basic White cardstock. Then I coloured them with Watercolour Pencils and softened it with a Blender Pen. Then I cut them out with the coordinating dies. The phrase comes from the Happiness Abounds stamp set and I cut it out with one of the Stitched Rectangles dies. Which I popped up with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I love how my Diamond Z-Fold card turned out! This is such a fun fold to make. To keep hopping around the world check out Mette’s card here.

Double Dutch Fold

Fancy Folds Design Team

Another month… another Fancy Fold Design Team blog hop! I just love doing these fun folds. And this month we’re making a Double Dutch Fold card. The Gatefold card is a favourite of mine and one of my go-tos when I want to do something different. This fold totally reminds of that one. Beata from Splitcoaststampers shows a cute version here. She shares the measurements for the card base towards the beginning of the video and then check the comments for the measurement of the cardstock band.

My design came from my desire to use the Artfully Composed Designer Series Paper pack from the January-June Mini catalogue. I started by picking the patterned paper I wanted and then pulled my colours from that. I used Pear Pizzazz for the card base and Evening Evergreen for my ink colour. To add to the tropical vibe I fussy cut a couple of leaves from one of the other designs from the same pack.

The image and phrase come from the In the Moment stamp set. I cut out the image using one of the Layering Circles dies and the phrase with one of the Stitched Rectangles dies. Then the image was popped up with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. I didn’t pop up the phrase because I want it to help keep the multiple flaps somewhat closed.

Then to finish it off I added a few of the Faux Sea Glass Shapes. A different version of bling. Here’s my card…

This was such a fun and simple card to make. Make sure you keep hopping around the world to see the rest of our Double Dutch Fold cards! Next up is Mette Nordling-Shaw from Australia. Check out her card here.

And you can check out last month’s blog hop here, where we made a Double Triangle Fold.

Book Fold Card

I wasn’t sure what I wanted to share here this week. But I knew that I wanted to do something different than my usual card design. So as I was thinking about options, the idea of making a Book Fold Card popped into my head. I’ve done this fold once or twice before, but I think this may become a fun and easy go to for me. Usually a Z-fold card is my go-to, but it’s always nice to have options! Here’s a modified Z-Fold card I made a while back.

For this design I used the Dahlia Days stamp set from the January-June Mini Catalogue. With all the excitement of the new Annual Catalogue you don’t want to forget about these guys! And the phrase comes from the Friends are like Seashells stamp set. For my colour combination, I used Crumb Cake for the card base and Petal Pink for the card mat and stamping. I also threw in a splash of Pear Pizzazz for the leaves.

To create the card base you’ll need a piece of cardstock that’s 4 1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5 1/2″ AND 4 1/2″. Adding some Tear & Tape Adhesive on the inside in between the two score lines is what gives you the book fold. Then from here you can add whatever you like! I added some Petal Pink cardstock that I embossed using the Painted Texture 3D embossing folder.

To step it up even further I added some of the Petal Pink Cotton Ribbon and cut out the stamped images and phrase using the Stitched Rectangles dies. Then I popped these up with some Stampin’ Dimensionals and of course added some bling!

Book Fold Card

This Book Fold Card turned out so pretty I may have a hard time giving it away! Lol!

To find everything you need to make your own version, head over to my online shop. And make sure to share your design. I love to see other people’s cards!

Pop-Up Card

Fancy Folds Design Team

The Fancy Fold Design Team is back for another blog hop! Our last blog hop was back in December, the Bay Window card which you can check out here. So I’m glad to be back at it again. This month we’re making a Pop-Up card. It’s such a cute card and as usual not that difficult to make. Here’s a video by Jolan a Dutch demonstrator. The video is in Dutch but captions are in English.

When I saw this card I had a couple of different ideas pop in my head. Butterflies was of course one of them, lol. In the end I decided to use flowers. And in this case the Dahlia Days stamp set and coordinating dies. I love this set! It’s so pretty and I love the phrases too.

For the colours I let the Designer Series Paper help me with that. I wanted to use the Friendly Hello DSP from the Sale-a-bration catalogue and decided to use a design I haven’t used yet. This one is with Fresh Freesia. I love purples and this one is such a nice shade! So for my cardbase and ink I used Fresh Freesia. I also threw in a bit of Granny Apple Green and a different design from that DSP pack. I’m going to miss this patterned paper and stamp set!

For the inside of my cards I usually I like to leave a fairly big space to write a note or something, but I just love this stamp and how easy it is to cut out with the die that I had to use that instead. I also popped up the large dahlia with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals to help it pop up through the hole. And to finish it off I added a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels. I do love my bling!

Check out the next Pop-Up card on this month’s blog hop over on Mette Nordling Shaw’s page here. And then make sure you keep hopping!
