Happy Valentine’s Day

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! And to celebrate I’m sharing the last of my Valentine’s themed projects. A fun home decor piece that you can easily put in a 6″ x 6″ frame. I love making projects like these for the different holidays and seasons! And the Adoring Hearts hybrid embossing folder makes this really easy! You just need to hold on to all the extra embossed and die cut hearts for future projects… or maybe you can use them like confetti.

To make the coloured hearts pop I wanted a neutral color for the ‘frame’. So I used Basic White for the inner frame and Basic Black for the mat behind it. For the hearts I used Cherry Cobbler, Fresh Freesia, Bubble Bath, Balmy Blue and a little bit of gold foil.

To reduce the number of extra hearts you can put 3 strips of cardstock in the hybrid embossing folder. So you can get 3 different colours in one go. Or you can use a 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ piece of cardstock for each colour and have a lot of extra hearts. I’ll leave the choice up to you. If you’ve never used a hybrid embossing folder before, check out my post that’ll tell you all you need to know here.

Once I had all my cardstock hearts, I added them to the frame using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. The gold foil was added on top of a plain Cherry Cobbler heart using a Fine-Tip glue pen. I did my best to stagger the colours and designs of the hearts. And I think it turned out pretty good…

Happy Valentine's Day

Now to find a frame. I think I might still have a frame from my Happy Houseplants kit. Otherwise it’s off to Michaels for me.

You can find everything you need to make your own version of this in my online shop, including the Happy Houseplants kit which you can earn for free as part of Sale-a-bration until February 28th.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Valentine’s Day Slimline Card

Tomorrow’s February 1st which means that Valentine’s Day is only 2 weeks away! My creative juices have slowly been coming back (see why here). And one bundle that’s definitely sparked some inkspiration is the Adoring Hearts bundle. I love the hybrid embossing folder that comes with the stamp set! So many great possibilities! And one of the the first ideas that popped in my head when I started crafting with these was a Valentine’s day slimline card. I can fit so many more hearts on a slimline card!

The card base is Cherry Cobbler with a Basic Black card mat. This is such a nice deep red for the hearts! I also used Cherry Cobbler for one of my ink colours… Tuxedo Black is the other, of course.

I stamped the sentiment at the bottom of the Basic White card front using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. Then I stamped some small Cherry Cobbler hearts next to it. Next I added a few embossed Cherry Cobbler hearts and some gold foil ones that I die cut using another die from the bundle. To fill in the gaps I added a few Tuxedo Black hearts. I love the design on this one! It wasn’t able to pop up the more detailed Cherry Cobbler hearts, so I used some Stampin’ Dimensionals on the larger gold foil hearts.

Valentine’s Day Card with Hello Ladybug

I think I might be almost done with my Valentine’s Day crafting for this year. And part of me is kind of sad about it because I’ve been having so much fun! But before I’m done I need to share a cute Valentine’s Day card with Hello Ladybug. And while this isn’t necessarily a Valentine’s Day stamp set per se, it’s easy enough to add a “Happy Valentine’s Day” to these cute ladybugs.

For my colours I’m pulling from one of the designs of the Sale-a-bration Flight & Airy Designer Series Paper… Fresh Freesia and Bubble Bath. Not exactly traditional Valentine’s Day colours, but I love the combination and I think this patterned paper will make pretty wings.

My card base is Bubble Bath. And then I used a little bit of both for my ink colours. The little hearts around the edges are Bubble Bath. Next I layered a piece of Basic Black cardstock and a piece of the DSP. I made my bumblebee with Bubble Bath and Tuxedo Black Memento ink. And for my ladybug, I used some Basic Black cardstock and some of the DSP.

When I first say the bumblebee builder punch, I saw speech bubbles instead of the body. So I used that idea to add a cute sentiment for each bug. And then I popped them all up with some Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Favourite Valentine’s Day Stamp Sets

I can’t believe that February starts in just a couple days! Can you?! I’ve been busy with all kinds of Valentine’s Day crafting lately. Have you started yours yet? If you haven’t then you’ll want to keep reading. Today I’m sharing my favourite Valentine’s Day stamp sets.

The January-April Mini catalogue definitely has a few stamp sets that’ll work great for Valentine’s Day. But my favourite has to be the Bee My Valentine stamp set. The obvious reason why I love this stamp set is the super cute Bumblebee and different expressions that you can give it! Aside from that, there’s a number of different Valentine’s Day sentiments using different fonts. I love a stamp set that has lots of images and sentiments like this one. So versatile too… it doesn’t have to be just for Valentine’s Day.

Favourite Valentine's Day Stamp Sets

The Sending Love stamp set is also really nice for Valentine’s Day. A lot of great sentiments in this one too. I think my favourite are the circular ones. And the mailbox is a really fun image to use!

Favourite Valentine's Day Stamp Sets

There aren’t as many Valentine’s Day stamp sets in the Annual catalogue. But there is one that would make some fun Valentine’s Day cards… Hello Ladybug. Ladybug… love bug… am I right?! Now it maybe doesn’t have a “Happy Valentine’s Day”, but it does have other sentiments that could be used (“you can bug me anytime”) if you don’t have one already in your craft stash. And the ladybug is pretty cute!

Thanks Stampin’ Up! for these super cute projects!

Handmade Valentine’s Day Card

I’m having a lot of fun crafting Valentine’s Day cards! And the Most Adored Specialty Designer Series Paper pack makes it really easy to make a pretty handmade Valentine’s Day card. The colours are perfect for Valentine’s Day. And I just love the gold foil designs. So I had a hard time picking what designs to use for this card.

The inkspiration for this card design came from a picture I saw in a Facebook group I’m a part of. It’s such a great way to show off pretty patterned paper like this! I’m keeping the card base neutral with Crumb Cake to help the colours from the Designer Series Paper stand out. Once I picked my designs I stuck them to a piece of Basic White cardstock.

My “Happy Valentine’s Day” comes from the Bee My Valentine stamp set in the January-April Mini catalogue. I stamped it with Crumb Cake ink. Then I added some cute little hearts from the same stamp set with Flirty Flamingo ink. Finally I popped up that piece of cardstock with a couple Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Heartfelt Hellos

After Christmas this is the most wonderful time of year! At least for crafters anyway… because it’s Sale-a-bration time. This is Stampin’ Up!s biggest promotion of the year. It’s such a great time to stock up on crafting essentials like cardstock and adhesive because it leads to FREE crafting supplies like the Heartfelt Hellos stamp set.

This stamp set is full of great sentiment, so I decided to pair it with the Bee My Valentine stamp set to make a cute Valentine’s day card. But the only traditional Valentine’s day colour I used on this card is pink. Well Bubble Bath actually. For this design I made my own background full of different images. I stamped the larger hearts in Bubble Bath ink. Then I stamped some flowers with Pool Party ink. And to fill in some of the gaps I stamped some little hearts in Highland Heather ink.

I used Pool Party for my card base so that I could also use the Pool Party ribbon that’s also part of Sale-a-bration. The sentiment from the Heartfelt Hellos stamp set is in Bubble Bath. And I added a few more little hearts in Pool Party. Next I die cut it with one of the Something Fancy dies to create a cute tag. Then I popped it up with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. And to finish it off I added some Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels to the centres of the flowers. What girl doesn’t like a little sparkle for Valentine’s Day?! lol

Heartfelt Hellos

Other than the die cut tag, this is a nice simple Valentine’s Day card. And as much fun as I’ve been having with the bumblebee from the Bee My Valentine stamp set, it was nice to use a few of the other images.

Check out another card I made with the Bee Mine suite here.

I’ll be sharing all there is to know about Sale-a-bration in my next post so stay tuned! Or if you can’t wait until then, head over to my online shop.
