More Than Autumn

If you’ve been following me for a little while, you’ll know that I love joining in my large team’s card swaps. They’re such a great way to find inkspiration. AND it’s a great way to see projects with products you don’t have! A new catalogue is here so that means we’re having another card swap. The big things to remember are to use a stamp set from the new catalogue (e.g. More than Autumn), no online exclusives and make sure to add an embellishment.

For my design I’m using the More than Autumn stamp set. It’s such a fun stamp set and really versatile. My colour combination is inspired by fall. So I’m using Crumb Cake for my card base and Pumpkin Pie for my card mat. For all my stamping I’m using Very Vanilla. I really like the softer, more subtle colour for Fall themed cards.

I stamped my sentiment at the top and bottom of my card front using both Crumb Cake and Pumpkin Pie ink. Then on top of that I layered a strip of Country Woods Designer Series Paper. Next I stamped my Pumpkin Spice latte with Crumb Cake ink. The pumpkin is stamped with Pumpkin Pie ink of course. And then the whipped cream is stamped with Basic Beige. I coloured the cup and pumpkin with the Watercolour Pencils (assortment 1). If you’re light with your pressure the Early Espresso works well as an almost Crumb Cake. Then I framed it with another piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock and popped it up with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals. To finish is off I added Wink of Stella to the whipped cream and a few of the orange Faux Glass Dots.

More than Autumn

Once I get all the cards from my team’s card swap, I’ll pick a few of my favourites to share here.

In the meantime, check out another card I made using the More than Autumn stamp set here.

Fall Themed Handmade Card

September is here! And with a new catalogue and Fall just a couple of weeks away I’ve been having some fun with one of the new bundles from the September-December Mini Catalogue… aka the Holiday Mini. The More than Autumn stamps and dies are great for any occasion. For this post though I’m sharing a fall themed handmade card.

The image of the slice of pie totally caught my eye and inspired the design of this card. So with this being a fall themed handmade card I went with the obvious choice… pumpkin pie! I’m using Pumpkin Pie for the card base and one of my ink colours. The other colour is Pecan Pie. On top of the Pecan Pie card mat, I stamped a few Pumpkin Pie pumpkins. Then I embossed the cardstock using the 3D Cane Weave embossing folder. But before I attached it to the card mat I added a little bit of the Natural Polka Dot trim. And with this you’ll want to cut a little extra. The trim is a bit stiff and so you’ll want that extra to make is easier to tie a simple knot like I did.

From here, I stamped the image of the slice of pie using Early Espresso ink. I didn’t want the lines of the image disappearing when I coloured it with Pumpkin Pie and Pecan Pie Stampin’ Write markers. I framed this piece of cardstock with some more Pecan Pie cardstock and then popped it up with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then on top of the trim I stamped my sentiment with both ink colours. I die cut it using the Something Fancy dies and then popped this up with a couple more Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Fall Themed Handmade Card

Fall Watercolour

This week’s challenge from the Paper Craft Crew is a theme challenge (PCC 535). And it’s all about Fall. I can’t believe the first day of Fall is this Saturday already! Where has this year gone?! Anyway… the design for my card started with the idea of a Fall watercolour. Here’s the picture that sparked the inkspiration for my design…

Fall Watercolouring

Now some people might go for a pumpkin theme. But I decided to go a different route. I used Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze to create my watercolour background. Then once that was dry I stamped a couple of leaves from the Season of Chic stamp set in Early Espresso. The sentiment is also from Season of Chic and I framed that with some Early Espresso cardstock and popped it up with some Stampin’ Dimensionals.

In the bottom right hand corner I added a couple of sunflowers. These sunflowers I created using the Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks and my Blending Brushes. I started with Crushed Curry and then added a little Cajun Craze to the petals. Then for the centre, I started with Wild Wheat and added Early Espresso. These were pretty easy to fussy cut and then I popped them up too.

Fall Watercolouring

I quite like my Fall watercolour background. And I just love the Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks! It’s so much fun crafting with these.

Handmade Fall Card with Cottage Wreaths

September is here and Fall is just around the corner! So before I start diving into my Christmas crafting I thought I’d share a handmade Fall card with Cottage Wreaths. This is such a fun set of stamps and dies! It’s great for just about any season or occasion. I’m looking forward to some Halloween crafting with it!

In the meantime though I paired it with the One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Paper. I know, the title makes you wonder if you can use it for anything other than Christmas. But I promise you that you can… and not just with this design that I used for this card! For this card I used the dark wood grain design. The card base is Wild Wheat, one of the new In Colours. I also used Wild Wheat as my main ink colour.

To create the wreath I stamped off onto a scrap piece of paper first then I stamped onto some Very Vanilla cardstock. Then to add a bit of those gorgeous Fall colours, I stamped some leaves using Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze. The coordinating dies made is really easy to cut all these out, including the two Wild Wheat acorns.

The acorns framed the sentiment which I cut out using one of the Meadows dies. And then I popped both the wreath and the sentiment up with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then to finish it off I added a few of the Wild Wheat In Colour Dots.

Handmade Fall Card with Cottage Wreaths

I think this handmade Fall card with Cottage Wreaths might need to come with me to one of my Thanksgiving dinners!

Explosion Fun Fold Card

Fancy Folds Design Team

I’m kicking off my fall crafting with an Explosion Fun Fold card with the Fancy Folds Design Team! I’ve never made a card like this before so I’m excited to give it a try. And Tami White, a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator from the US, has a video and cheat sheet that’s super helpful if you want to try and make your own. You can find them both here.

For my design I’m using the Them Bones Designer Series Paper from the upcoming mini catalogue. I got my pre-order earlier this week and couldn’t wait to get crafting with it. Then for my images and sentiments, I’m using the Cottage Wreaths bundle from the Annual Catalogue.

The card base is Crumb Cake cardstock. On the inside I used Very Vanilla cardstock. I like the softer white for my Fall cards! Now before I added my DSP mechanism, I stamped a few leaves on the cardstock using Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze ink. Then I stamped the sentiment with Pumpkin Pie and framed it with a few Cajun Craze acorns and another piece of Crumb Cake cardstock to put in the centre of the mechanism.

On the outside I have the same DSP design as the the mechanism. The belly band, to keep the card closed, is Crumb Cake cardstock. And to cover up the overlapping cardstock, I added a Crumb Cake wreath that I cut out with the coordinating die. I stamped “grateful” in Pumpkin Pie ink and punched it out with a circle punch. I used the 2 3/8″ Circle punch and then trimmed a bit off. The 2″ Circle punch should work without having to do any trimming. Once I added this to my Crumb Cake belly band I added a few Brushed Metallic Dots to the wreath. Gotta add a bit of bling!!
