Curvy Pop-Up Card

Fancy Folds Design Team

This month the Fancy Folds Design Team is making a Curvy Pop-Up card. I saw this fun fold a while ago and am glad to finally get the chance to make one of my own. This is such a cute card and I love that it’s so easy to make! To make your own, check out the video I shared on my YouTube channel here. In that version I used the Penguin Place bundle from the July-December Mini and the Silver & Gold Designer Series Paper from the Sale-a-bration catalogues. It includes the measurements and you can follow along with me step by step.

In my first version I used the All Spruced Up bundle. It’s such a fun set of stamps and dies to craft with! Then to keep with the Christmas theme I decided to use the Painted Christmas Designer Series Paper. It’s so pretty and I used it to choose my colour combination for the card. I used Evening Evergreen as the main colour with a splash of Soft Succulent.

For the pop-up in the centre I used a combination of stamped images that I cut out using the coordinating dies along with some simple cardstock cut outs. The larger ones in the back I added using Stampin’ SEAL and the smaller ones with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The phrase I cut out using the Stitched Rectangles dies. Then added a few of the Festive Pearls to add a bit of bling. You can also add a little bit of Wink of Stella Glitterbrush to the die cut trees if you want a little more. To have somewhere to add a note, just add some Basic White cardstock on the back.

Such a cute fun fold card right?! Make sure to keep hopping around the world. Up next is the Curvy Pop-Up card from Mette Nordling-Shaw. Check that out here.

And check out last month’s hop here, where we made a Mirror Fold card.

Fun Fold Card

I saw a post from Jo Blackman a couple of weeks ago showing this cute fun fold card and I knew that I wanted to give it a try. My first thought was to use the Penguin Place stamp set for my design. For the other design that I used for my YouTube channel, I picked the Sale-a-bration stamp set Hippest Hippos. Check out my video here.

From here I needed to pick the Designer Series Paper I was using so I could get my colour combination. For the Penguin Place card design I paired it with the Sale-a-bration Silver & Gold Designer Series Paper, so I used a Pool Party card base. And for the Hippest Hippos card I used one of the designs from the Hues of Happiness pack of Designer Series Paper with a Petal Pink card base. This piece of patterned paper also helped me pick the hippo for my card!

On the inside of the card I stamped the full versions of my cute critters. Adding some of the cute accessories for my penguin and the Watercolour Pencils to colour my hippo. My critters and phrases were all die cut using the Layering Circles dies, even the scalloped cardstock. Then I popped up the framed phrases using Stampin’ Dimensionals. But my plain critters I kept on the same level as the DSP.

Fun Fold Card

I kept the outside of the cards simple. If you want you can add some Rhinestone Basic Jewels or Brushed Brass Butterflies. That would add a little something more to this fun fold card.

Fun Fold Card

You can check out another of my recent fun fold cards here. Each month I join the Fancy Folds Design team for a blog hop and earlier this month we made a Mirror Fold card.

Happy Canada Day!

Happy Canada Day everyone! I’m looking forward to this long weekend. Some nice warm weather… some time off from my “9 to 5″… and extra time for crafting!! What could be better?! So to celebrate I wanted to make a special card. The idea for this card came to me when I was looking at the Hippos dies from the new Sale-a-bration catalogue, which kicks off today.

The base for this card uses Basic White and Real Red to create a Canada flag look. I kept the Real Red cardstock plain. Although I wish I had the Leaf Fall 3D Embossing folder from the new July-December Mini catalogue! It would really add something to the Real Red panels.

In the centre I used the Layering Circles dies with some Real Red and Basic White cardstock in place of the usual Maple Leaf. Then in the centre of that I have one of the cute hippos that you can earn for free right now during Sale-a-bration, the Hippest Hippos. I stamped the hippo with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then once that was dry I coloured it in with Stampin’ Blends; Smoky Slate and Flirty Flamingo.

The sparklers is where this whole card design began. I of course used the coordinating die to cut out my hippo, but I also used the flower dies to create the sparklers. The Brushed Metallic cardstock worked perfectly for this. I just layered the smaller flower on top of the larger one with a Mini Glue Dot. And then I cut a thin strip of another sheet to create the sticks.

Happy Canada Day

Super cute right?!

Check out another project I made last year to say Happy Canada Day here. And if you want to check out the new Sale-a-bration catalogue, head over to my online shop! Remember every order of $60 will earn you one of the free products from the Sale-a-bration catalogue. If you have any questions about how Sale-a-bration works just let me know (inkspirationwithteresa@gmail.com). I’m happy to answer any of your questions!

Hippest Hippos

Summer is officially here! I’m looking forward to a slower pace and more time for crafting. And I’m definitely looking forward to round 2 of Sale-a-bration. I especially love the Hippest Hippos stamp set and coordinating dies that you can earn for FREE starting next Friday with qualifying orders. So to celebrate the first day of Summer I thought I’d pair these cute hippos with the Friends are like Seashells stamp set.

With that in mind I went with a beach themed colour combination. Pool Party and Crumb Cake I feel work great for this. I used Crumb Cake for my card base. And then I added Pool Party to mat the images and phrase. Before I stamped my images I used my Blending Brushes on the main piece of Basic White cardstock. I used Crumb Cake along the bottom to create a kind of beach and then Pool Party along the top for a water/sky look. On top of the blended inks I stamped some specs of sand and a few seashells.

Then for the hippos I stamped them with Smoky Slate on separate pieces of Basic White cardstock. Once they were dry I used some of my Watercolour Pencils to colour them in. Then I cut them out with the coordinating dies and popped them up with some Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The phrase comes from the Friends are like Seashells stamp set. And I cut it out with one of the Stitched Rectangles dies. Then I popped it up with some more Stampin’ Dimensionals and added a few of the Faux Sea Glass Shapes.

Hippest Hippos

This was such a fun card to make! I can’t wait to create some more with the Hippest Hippos. Stay tuned for more cards featuring these guys.

Simple Handmade Cards

Today is the last day of Sale-a-bration! I’m going to miss a lot of these producs. There are so many great options in this catalogue. And I’ve had so much fun crafting with them. The Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Series Paper is one of my favourites. So I thought I’d share some simple handmade cards featuring this pretty patterned paper!

The inkspiration for these cards came from Shannon West. I love how she layered the different designs! The colours for the card bases came from the DSP designs i used. I used Magenta Madness, Misty Moonlight, Bermuda Bay, Petal Pink and Pool Party. And the DSP designs worked out really well because for all the cards I just flipped the sheet over for the other design.

Simple Handmade Cards

Since I don’t have the Cloud Punch, I fussy cut the clouds. Thankfully that was pretty easy! And the phrases came from Free as a Bird (thank you) and Timeless Tulips (happy birthday). The ink colours came from the card base colours. Then I punched out the phrase with the plain oval from the Double Oval Punch. And added a few Stampin’ Dimensionals behind them both to pop them up. To finish it off I added a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels and a simple bow using the white twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials pack.

Simple Handmade Cards

I just love these simple handmade cards! And I’m going to miss a lot of the products from the Sale-a-bration catalogue. Especially the Sunshine & Rainbows DSP. Check out another project I made with this great patterned paper here.

Stampin’ Up! will have some new Sale-a-bration products in the summer, but these ones will be gone after today. So if there’s something you’ve had your eye on now is the time! Head over to my online shop and get yours before they’re gone!

Time to Say Goodbye

I can’t believe it’s already the end of Februaury! This winter seems to be going by so fast… or maybe it’s just me. Either way though it’s almost time to say goodbye to the Sale-a-bration catalogue. This Tuesday is the last day you can place an order and get your choice of a free Sale-a-bration product or two. If you want to know more about how Sale-a-bration works then check out my post here. It has everything you need to know!

I’ve had a lot of favourites this Sale-a-bration. But I think the Designer Series Paper packs are my most favourite. I’ve been having so much fun crafting with them! The Friendly Hello stamp set and DSP pack I think might be favourite… aka the one I’ll miss the most. So I wanted to share one more card using it with you. The idea for this card came from a couple of different cards I saw recently using the Stack & Shuffle technique. One from Stampin’ Up! and the other from fellow demonstrator Debbie Beaulieu Henderson. This is such a great way to share a bunch of different patterned paper!

To make it I simply chose the designs I wanted and cut them into different sized rectangles. Then I stuck them on a piece of Basic White cardstock which I popped up with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used a Basic White card base because I wanted the colours/designs from the DSP to be the focus.

Then I die cut a couple of butterflies using the Brilliant Wings dies. The colours came from the colours in the DSP. And then I added some foliage in Evening Evergreen. This piece is one from the Meadow dies that I cut into 3 pieces to put behind the butterflies. Then to finish it off I added a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Time to Say Goodbye

I really like how this card turned out! I don’t make no stamping cards very often. But when I do I really enjoy it. I’m definitely going to use this technique again. And next time I’ll be using some vellum behind my die cut pieces.

Check out the Friendly Hello bundle in my online shop before Tuesday. Remember it’s time to say goodbye to Sale-a-bration!

Simply Marbleous

I’m back to share some more pretty paper! The Friendly Hello Designer Series Paper is up at the top of my list, check out my latest project here, but the Simply Marbleous DSP isn’t far behind. I actually remember Stampin’ Up! having something a little similar for Sale-a-bration a few years ago. But that one was a 12×12 pack and this one is 6×6. No matter the size though, I love patterned paper!

This pack of paper I particularly like because you don’t have to do much to it. And it’s not going to overwhelm your project either. Because of that I really wanted to make a card featuring this paper. And I’ve seen some really nice cards lately with lots of layers, so I thought that would be a nice design to go with this DSP.

From there I needed my colours. I love the Coastal Cabana in this pack so I used that for the card base. This design totally makes me think of water so I thought the Friends are like Seashells stamp set would be perfect. And to play into that idea I added a splash of Crumb Cake.

I cut out the smaller layers using the Stitched So Sweetly dies. Then I popped up the second layer of DSP with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. The large shell that I fussy cut too. And to finish it off I added some Wink of Stella to the shell and a few Polished Dots.

Simply Marbleous

I love how this card turned out! And I could totally see this same design with the Awesome Otters stamp set. I might just need to pair those two up next.

Check out all the colours in the Simply Marbleous DSP pack in my online shop. And remember it’s part of the exclusive Sale-a-bration catalogue so you can get it for free with a $60 order!

All Together

One of the great things about being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator are the sneak peeks at new products. And the chance to purchase them before they’re officially released of course. So this week I’m sharing something new that’s coming this Tuesday. It’s the All Together suite of products. And the special thing about this suite is that Stampin’ Up! is releasing a whole new set of skin tone Stampin’ Blends just for it! Along with all the new Blends there’s a new pack of black and white Designer Series Paper, a new stamp set and coordinating dies.

While I would love to get it all, my budget said otherwise. So for now I have the Here Together stamp set and the Light Stampin’ Blends. I’ll definitely be adding to my blend collection with my next order. In the meantime I wanted to do a little something with what I have.

I really wanted the image to be the main focus so I decided to have some Designer Series Paper for my background. For this card I used one of the designs from the Sale-a-bration Sunshine and Rainbows DSP. Then I pulled the Melon Mambo from the design and used that colour to stamp the phrase. The image was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then I coloured them with my new Stampin’ Blends.

To make them pop even more I cut out both the image and phrase using the Stitched So Sweetly dies and popped them up with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. And of course I added a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels for a little something extra! Here’s the finished card…

All Together

I love the new All Together suite and am looking forward to seeing more diversity in everyone’s creations! This suite is available starting on Tuesday until May 2nd. In the meantime check out this post using some of the other Stampin’ Blends. And here’s my online shop for when you’ve got your list all set to go.

#SimpleStamping with Sale-a-bration

The first #SimpleStamping challenge of 2022 is here! And it’s Sale-a-bration so it totally makes sense that this month’s challenge is some #SimpleStamping with Sale-a-bration. This month we need to create a birthday card using stamps, ink, paper and something from the Sale-a-bration catalogue. At first I thought of using the Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Series Paper because it’s filled with lots of bright, fun colours. Great for a birthday card right?! But I’m just loving the Awesome Otters stamp set so I ended up using that as the jumping off point for my design instead.

From there I needed my colour combination. Coastal Cabana is such a pretty blue so I started with that. The Crumb Cake coordinates really well, plus it’s a good colour for an otter and some sand. I also used some Old Olive so I could create a nice water scene. The Friends are like Seashells stamp set worked great for this. I used it for the seaweed and the specs of sand. Then I used a couple of the filler images, stamped off on a scrap piece of paper, to make the sand and add a bit of water.

#SimpleStamping with Sale-a-bration

The phrase on the outside is a great one. It can be used for a birthday card or a just because card. So since this is supposed to be a birthday card I added an extra phrase on the inside. I used the “happy birthday” from the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set. Which I topped off with the birthday hat from the Awesome Otters stamp set.

#SimpleStamping with Sale-a-bration

I always have fun with #SimpleStamping! And doing some #SimpleStamping with Sale-a-bration made it even more fun. Here’s another card I made using the Awesome Otters stamp set. And remember you only need a $60 order to earn these cute little guys for free! So once you have your list head over to my online shop.

Friendly Hello

This past weekend I had an online catalogue launch party on my Facebook page to celebrate the new catalogues. There was a lot going on! Games, prizes and the chance to check out some of the products from the January-June Mini and Sale-a-bration catalgoues. And of course what stamping party would be complete without some stamping! So I had a live crafting session. And for my customers who registered, they received some supplies to stamp along… and some treats too! I used the Friendly Hello stamp set from the Sale-a-bration catalogue. Partly because I love it and partly because I thought most stampers would have some stamp sets with flowers and birds to substitute.

I thought about using the Designer Series Paper that comes with the free stamp set, but decided not to. I did pull my colour combination from the DSP though and used Petal Pink, Granny Apple Green and Crumb Cake. With these colours I made my own stamped DSP. I love doing this and this one turned out nice!

Underneath I added a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock that I embossed using the new Gingham Embossing Folder. It really adds a little something to plain cardstock! And I think this may be my new favourite embossing folder. I also wrapped some Petal Pink cotton ribbon around it and tied a bow. This ribbon comes from the new Cotton Ribbon Combo pack. It comes with Petal Pink and Misty Moonlight.

From there I added the bird on a branch image and a phrase. Both were cut out using the Stitched So Sweetly dies and popped up with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then to finish it off I added a bit of bling with a few of the new Brushed Brass Butterflies. I love crafting with these sssooo much! I’ve already used over half a pack! Check out one of my other cards using these butterflies and some of the other great Sale-a-bration products here. Here’s the card from my party…

Friendly Hello

I’m sad that the Friendly Hello stamp set and DSP are only around until February 28th. But I’m definitely going to make the most of it! I hope you like this card as much as my customers and party attendees do!

For more information on how to earn this stamp set and DSP for free, check out my post all about Sale-a-bration here. And then you can fill up your cart in my online shop here. Remember to use this month’s host code when you do to get a free pack of Polished Dots from me for your order of $49 or more!

Friendly Hello

Amazing Silhouettes

Back in November I attended OnStage @ Home. Just like everyone else Stampin’ Up! switched their annual conference online. And while I do miss the in-person events, I still enjoy the online version. They do a great job! Anyway…. as part of attending OnStage I received the Amazing Silhouettes stamp set which is in the new January-June Mini catalogue. I have to admit that I wasn’t as excited as with this Prize Patrol, but did see some potential.

This card is my first design using this stamp set. And to ease my way into it I paired it with a few other stamp sets. I started my design thinking I would make a monochromatic card. And one of the Pool Party designs from the Sale-a-bration Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Series Paper was perfect! This one is a nice simple design and won’t overpower the other elements of the card. So Pool Party is my main colour for this card.

The central image is the butterfly from the Amazing Silhouettes stamp set. Behind that are the dotted circle images from the Sweet Conversations stamp set. Both of these I stamped with Pool Party, of course. But for the dotted circles I stamped them full strength and then once more for a faded image too. Then the phrase, which I stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink, came from the new In the Moment stamp set. This set also came from OnStage… I bought the swag box this time around and that was one of the goodies inside!

To highlight the phrase and butterfly I cut them out using the Stitched Rectangles and Stitched So Sweetly dies. And then I popped them up with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. To finish it off I added a couple of the Brass Brushed Butterflies. I just love these!! As soon as I saw them at OnStage I knew I had to have them. And when they ended up being one of the other Prize Patrols I was super excited. Here’s the card…

Amazing Silhouettes

The Amazing Silhouettes stamp set is definitely growing on me. I already have a couple other ideas in my head for other projects.

To fill up on supplies and make your own version of this card, head over to my online shop. Or if you want to get in on the sneak peeks and free products and join my team you can do that here. Plus when you do before February 28th you’ll get 2 extra stamp sets for free! Or if you want more info before joining the Stampin’ Up! family check out my join my team page here.

Sale-a-bration is back!

It’s that time of year again! And Sale-a-bration is back! Which means it’s time to stock up on your crafting supplies and get exclusive products for FREE! I am just loving this year’s catalogue from Stampin’ Up!. There’s lots of great Designer Series Paper and stamp sets. For us seasoned crafters this will be a review. But if you’re new to crafting then here’s what you need to know about Sale-a-bration.

Sale-a-bration is Stampin’ Up!s biggest promotion of the year. From now until February 28th there’s an extra catalogue filled with exclusive products that you can choose from for free with your order. And depending on your order you can choose different products. If your order is $60 or more then you can choose from the Level 1 ($60) products. And if your order is $120 or more then you can choose from the Level 2 ($120) products. If you manage to hit $180 then you can mix and match!

One of my favourite products from the Sale-a-bration catalogue is the Sunshine and Rainbows DSP. It’s so colourful and fun! Plus it coordinates perfectly with the Rainbow of Happiness stamp set and dies from the January-June Mini catalogue.

Sale-a-bration is back!

And as always there’s more! When you host a qualifying workshop, or you place an order of $375, you can get the Calming Camellia stamp set. This is a great time of year to host a workshop. Not only do you get more when you’re the host, but your friends and family get more too!

Calming Camelia

The other thing I need to mention is the extra bonus when you join the Stampin’ Up! family. The Starter Kit is always a great deal at $135 (no tax or shipping) for $165 worth of Stampin’ Up! products, a Paper Pumpkin kit and all the business supplies you need. But from now until February 28th you’ll also get 2 FREE stamp sets of your choice! So if you’ve been thinking about joining this is a great opportunity. It’s also great if your budget and wishlist don’t quite match up.

Sunshine and Rainbows

It’s that time of year again… Sale-a-bration time! The new catalogues just launched on Tuesday and I’m so excited for them. So today I’m sharing a project using 2 of the new Sale-a-bration products. The first is the Sunshine and Rainbows Designer Series Paper. And the other is the Catching Butterflies stamp set. Both are super cute and are some of my favourites from the Sale-a-bration catalogue!

To start my design I knew I wanted to use the Catching Butterflies stamp set. So next I needed my colour combination and for that I pulled from the DSP pack. There are so many fun and colourful designs is this pack of DSP! I decided to used the design with the Pool Party clouds and was pleasantly surprised when I flipped it over and could use the other design as well. So Petal Pink ended up being my other colour.

I stamped the girl with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and a couple of butterflies in Petal Pink. So to bring in the Pool Party from the DSP, I used that to stamp my phrase. The phrase is also from the Catching Butterflies stamp set.

To make sure I could still see lots of the DSP I cut out the image and phrase using the Layering Circles and Stitched So Sweetly dies. Then I popped them up with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals. To finish it off I added a few of the Brushed Brass Butterflies. I’m a big butterfly person, so as soon as I saw these in the new January-June Mini catalogue I knew I had to have them!

Here’s the finished card…

Sunshine and Rainbows

I just love the Sunshine and Rainbows DSP and can’t wait to craft with it some more! Keep coming back for more projects using some of the products from the new catalogues. Plus you can also get exclusive project sheets when you sign up for my weekly newsletter here. Or if you’re all set to dive in and place your order to get your free Sale-a-bration products then head over to my online shop!

Awesome Otters

The new catalogues are set to launch next week! So I thought I’d share a simple card using the Awesome Otters stamp set. This comes from the upcoming Sale-a-bration catalogue, which I know you’re going to love. I have always loved otters, so when I saw this set it immediately jumped to the top of my wishlist! The images are super cute. And they’re great whether you decide to colour them or not.

For this simple card I wanted to show off some of the other great products from the Sale-a-bration catalogue too. So I paired these cute otters with the Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Series Paper. The card base is Bermuda Bay for the water of course and the DSP design is Pool Party. I really wanted to show off the paper, so I trimmed down the images into squares.

I stamped the phrase and otters in Early Espresso ink. Then I coloured the otters with the first pack of Watercolour Pencils using Early Espresso and Bermuda Bay. There’s also a little bit of Melon Mambo and Old Olive in there. I wish the Stitched Shapes dies were still around. If they were I totally would have used them for this card. Instead I just made Basic White cardstock squares.

I popped up a couple of the otters with some Stampin’ Dimensionals and just used Stampin’ SEAL for the phrase and other otter. That made it easier to stagger the images so that you could still see most of the stamped images. Then to finish it off I added a few Opal Rounds. There are some Faux Sea Glass shapes that I would have loved to have added from the upcoming new mini catalogue. Those will definitely be on my next order!!

Awesome_Otters_Bermuda_Bay

I know I’m going to have a lot of fun crafting with the Awesome Otters stamp set. And I can’t wait for you guys to see what’s in the new catalogues! If you live in Canada and want to get your very own copies, contact me here or send me an email at inkspirationwithteresa@gmail.com. And make sure to check out my online shop starting on January 4th!
